Took this from another page...
1. Philipines: License plate restriction laws
The Philippines is well known for its ridiculous laws, but this one certainly puts the icing on the cake. The law states that vehicles with license plates ending in 1 or 2 are prohibited from commuting on the road on Mondays, 3 or 4 on Tuesdays, 5 or 6 on Wednesdays, 7 or 8 on Thursdays and 9 or 0 on Fridays. One cannot begin to comprehend why such a law exists and how it is even implementable. The law is said to be based on some kind of status procedure in the country, however, many people find it to be subtle and outright ridiculous.
2. US, California: Animals Prohibited from Publicly Mating within 1,500 feet of Any Church, School or Tavern
This law may seem pointless to most citizens. In addition, it is hard imagined any kind of “regulators” or “security guard” who would be working to prevent these animals from mating in close proximity to these properties.
3. Samoa: It Is Against The Law For A Husband To Forget His Wife’s Birthday
No wife wants her husband to forget her birthday, however, when the law prohibits this from happening; things begin to get a bit weird. While, in some countries, a night spent on the sofa is enough punishment, in Samoa, a wife can get her husband arrested for forgetting her birthday.
4. Israel: Punishable By Law To Pick Your Nose During Sabbath Worship.
While picking of the nose may just seem a bit revolting in some countries, in Israel it is seen as a violation of the law during Sabbath hours. The law is grounded on the idea that picking of the nose may cause bleeding, which is seen as a violation of the religious code of sanctity in the country. What’s absurd is that this law is only applicable to Jewish citizens exempting citizens of other faith.
5. Portugal: Against the Law to Urinate In The Sea
If you are planning on visiting Portugal this holiday season, you should definitely pay keen attention to this overly ridiculous law. If you get the urge to pee while swimming in the ocean, you should think twice before you go. Peeing in the sea is strictly against the law in Portugal and the consequences can be severe. One can only imagine how officials enforce this law when the seas of Portugal are so vast and expansive.
6. Scotland: The Law Prohibits You To Turn Someone Away Who Requests to Use Your Toilet
No one is going to feel safe allowing a stranger to enter their home, and this is why this law is so preposterous. In Scotland, the law prohibits citizens from closing their doors on someone who wants to use the toilet. Not only is this law downright ridiculous, but it is also extremely dangerous.
7. Switzerland: Illegal To Flush Toilet After 10:00 pm
In Switzerland, it is against the law to flush your toilet after 10 pm if you are living in an apartment. It’s hard to imagine how individuals living with these laws retrain themselves from going to the toilet during the nights or even sleep in a house with a toilet that’s not flushed.
8. Germany: Pillows Are Considered To Be “passive Weapons”
In Germany, pillow fighting is not encouraged at sleepover parties. Pillows are considered as passive weapons in the country by law and are labeled as dangerous.
9. Bahrain: Illegal For A Gynecologist To Look Directly At Patients Organs
In Bahrain, it is illegal for a gynecologist to look directly at the patient’s organs. Instead, mirror reflections are used during the examination.
10. US, Idaho: It’s illegal for a man to give his fiancé a box of candy that weighs more than 50 lbs (22.5 kg)
You have to save something until after the marriage I guess
US, Rhode Island: You may not sell toothpaste and a toothbrush to the same customer on a Sunday
US, Utah: Marriage between cousins is against the law only if they are younger than 65
US, Arkansas: A husband is allowed to beat his wife, but only once a month
Norway: An ancient Norwegian law still still exists that obliges all Norwegians to go out on expeditions to rape and plunder at least once every five years
