My dream world is very much like a real place. For 8 hours every night I enter an alternate universe complete with richly authentic textures, colors, smells, sounds, people – even weather. Life inside my dreams mirrors a real life, but most certainly not my own. Also, instead of brief flashes, the dreams tend to stretch out, seeming to last the entire night. This has been going on for several months now and my stubborn brain has decided to be selfish and not allow me to reflect too much on the dream life once I’m awake. Lately, I’ve noticed that I actually hear songs in my dreams, and that my personal trials and tribulations of the real world are making their way into my dream world. Since I have no idea how others dream, I have no way of knowing how normal this is, but it’s interesting because all my life my dreams have been slight glimpses of totally random nonsensical places and happenings.
The last thing I heard just before leaving my dream world this morning was Angie by the Rolling Stones playing from a speaker somewhere overhead and I was singing along. A teenage girl was sitting at a table nearby, giving me a look of annoyance and I was about to ask: “What’s the matter, don't you like The Stones?” when my alarm went off.
Interesting, I don't have very vivid dreams for the most part, most times I don't remember them (if that means I didn't have any or not I don't know)... But time aspect wise I'd imagine my dreams don't last more than a couple minutes, I wish I dreamt 8 hour long dreams
