I wouldn't go that far... I remember once or twice when I woke up and I felt like I couldn't breathe and had to run to the bathroom to drink water, that was not nice at all
Oh dear, I've had anxiety attacks before but never in my sleep. I've woken up choking a few times though. Choking on nothing. Took me hours to recover.
would you say having an anxiety attack in your sleep is the same having a nightmare....or is it different? cause I have had really shitty dreams, where I start freaky out during a normal situation....then just dreams most peps would freak out over..or maybe not... Anyway, I'd probably just categorize them both as nightmares, it's the same sort of thing in the end.

I suppose you could call it a nightmare but I see a nightmare more along the lines of impossible things happening. Being chased by monsters and the like.
While an anxiety dream is more along the lines reality based fears taking over even if the situations do not match your reality.
In the dream I was having many of the people in it were people I work with but the location and some of the duties were different.
Essentially I knew I was dreaming so I tried to wake up only to realize that I was not really awake but still dreaming and I had to make choices all over again.
ohh, I know what you mean. I had a dream a couple months ago where I kept realizing I was dreaming then would "wake up" just to realize again and again I was still dreaming... it happened 20+ times, different situations each time, not even exaggerating. It felt like the longest dream ever and it did become pretty frustrating like what you're describing.. sht sucks, hope those attacks are few and far between
The little ones I can handle and break the cycle rather quickly now. The one I posted about happened was going smoothly and I thought I had licked then out of no where it hit hard. I had never had one like that. Thankfully the supervisor understood and did not push the issue or it could have been much worse.
